But I did read that it said something new about having links from amazon to show or review products that was bought on Amazon.com and a book a bought a year ago from Amazon.com was a book called : The Secret Life of Josephine : Napoleon's Bird of Paradise by carolly Erickson
This version was paper back but i had a hard cover i don't remember the price of it but I'm pretty sure it was a decent amount. It was such a good book.
Summary: A young girl who lives on an island and is just begining to discovering her self and her "woman hood" her parents are in debt even though they own a sugar cane plantation; her distant cousin in France is in need of a bride in order to inherit his fathers fortune so he sends for the young Josephine. When she gets there she finds out that her cousin is different and that life is unfair; soon after the french revolution starts and things are chaotic the young josephine uses her cunning beauty and wit to avoid Madame Guillotine's sharp blade. Soon after she meets with rich bussiness men and survives the French Revolution with her two children and becomes a very "erotic" young lady. A few years past and she meets the young Napoleon and thats when her life really began, even though she had tough times with Napoleon's family she had a good relationship with Napoleon she was his goodluck charm. Later on though she began to loose her connection with Napoleon and things began to decline.
My own comments, thoughts, and opinions: I thought it was a good book; the book was deeply detailed and had strong characters. I would give this book 5 stars. I felt like the author had alot of bad thoughts towards men in this book because there was a few male characters that seemed to be the typical wife cheater, wife beater, and barbaric though they may have high education. Back then there was so much with one man and many wives, and it seemed that every man that Josephine was with they all had second wives or mistresses; I was dissapointed in that but then here we are in the 21st? or is it 20th century and people still cheat on their spouses whether its openly or secretively(sp?). But in all i really liked this book it has 'character' X3 I hope you guys enjoyed my review!
